B2B website copywriter for technical industries

I write websites and landing pages for businesses whose products take some explaining.

What makes web copy work

Knowing who is reading

The page that tries to satisfy everyone usually satisfies no one. Deciding who each page is for is the first job, and it happens before any writing.

Most websites that read badly are just badly structured. The information exists, but not in the sequence a buyer needs. I map what goes where before I write a line.

These aren't competing goals. A page that answers the question someone typed into Google is the page that reader wanted. I write copy that ranks by making it useful.

Why hire a website copywriter

I'm Kate, a B2B content specialist based in Doncaster with over a decade of experience.

I write for logistics and industrial technology companies, which means I'm comfortable with subject matters most copywriters would need a lengthy briefing call to get near.

I also built this very website myself using Hostinger. I've structured every landing page, written every page's copy and metadata, and set up Search Console to monitor performance. I write for any platform, and I can build in WordPress or Hostinger if you'd rather hand the whole thing over. If you like what you see, you know what to do.

Recent work

KUKA careers page
KUKA careers page
KUKA UK careers section

I was tasked with writing copy for the careers landing page plus the seven pages beneath it, covering apprenticeships, internships, benefits, culture, experienced professionals, vacancies and KUKA as an employer. Eight pages, each written for a different reader, from school leavers deciding on an apprenticeship to engineers weighing up a move.

BSA Training website
BSA Training website
BSA Training funded training page

A landing page explaining Skills Bank funding to South Yorkshire businesses. The subject is a public funding scheme with fiddly eligibility rules, so the page leads with what the reader gets, then lets them work out in about thirty seconds whether they qualify. Fewer wasted enquiries for the client, a faster answer for the reader.

Swisslog case study page
Swisslog case study page
Swisslog case study pages

Gated landing pages for a global logistics technology brand. Each one introduces a customer case study and asks for an email address to unlock access to the full PDF. The copy has to prove the document is worth reading without giving away too much detail.

Frequently asked questions

How much does website copy cost?

A single page rewrite starts at £275. For anything larger I quote a fixed project fee once I know how many pages you need and how much usable material already exists, so you have the full cost before we start.

Can you work with my web designer?

Yes. I'm happy to write to an existing design, or to write first and let the design follow the content, which usually produces a better result. I can also work directly in your website builder if you'd rather hand the whole thing over.

Do you write copy that's optimised for search?

Yes, and it's built into the writing rather than bolted on afterwards. That means keyword research before I start, page titles and meta descriptions written properly, and heading structure that tells Google what each page is about. What it doesn't mean is stuffing phrases in until the copy reads like it was written for a crawler.

How long does a website rewrite take?

Two to seven working days, at the shorter end for a single page and longer for a full site. The variable is usually how quickly feedback comes back rather than how quickly I write, so if you have a launch date, tell me early and I'll work backwards from it.

How many pages do I need?

Fewer than most businesses think. A homepage, an about page, a contact page and one page per service you actually want enquiries about. Extra pages made to look busy tend to dilute the ones that matter.

What's the difference between web copy and content marketing?

Web copy is the permanent stuff: your service pages, homepage and landing pages, written to convert someone who's already interested. Content marketing is the ongoing stuff that brings them there in the first place. Most businesses need both, but the website comes first, because there's no point driving traffic to pages that don't sell.

Website not doing you justice?

Tell me what your buyers keep misunderstanding. That's usually where the rewrite starts.
